A Right Royal Affair

Whether you want to rejuvenate by lotus ponds, relax on your very own private beach or dive with Napolean wrasse, the Maldives’ Royal Island offers a harmonious and stimulating vacation experience.

In the heart of the Indian Ocean, The Royal Island Resort & Spa in Baa Atoll, with its beautiful Banyan trees, lush green shrubs, blue lagoon and sandy white beaches is the place where dream holidays begin.

Ancient and modern
Legend has it that this island was a royal home and a majestic stone bath is still preserved here revealing its glorious past. A fusion of heritage and hospitality envelops this resort offering a vibrant reality, a marriage of ancient traditions and modern living, dedicated to ensure that guests experience the heart and soul of the Maldives.

Suites and villas

Set amidst the beauty of oceanic blue and emerald green, the resort has two presidential suites, Han’dhu and Iru. They are found on the sunset and sunrise tips of the island and each offers its own private beach. The elegant rooms are furnished with rich-coloured textiles, carved wooden furniture and atmospheric lighting. The dining room, which can seat eight people, king-sized bedrooms, decorated lounge, spacious verandah, swimming pool and jacuzzi are for the seriously indulgent.

If you are not fortunate enough to stay in a suite, there are 148 beach villas available. They are dotted among the palm trees and hidden in thick vegetation to ensure maximum privacy. All rooms face the beach and offer air-conditioning, an IDD telephone, mini bar, satellite TV with in-house movies, internet and email access, a full bathroom with open air shower, tea and coffee-making facilities and a safe deposit box. All rooms are beautifully decorated to reflect the surroundings.

World cuisine

The coral rock pool and tropical fish add vibrancy to the setting of the Maakana restaurant, where you can expect an exceptional selection of international cuisine. Located on the beach, the open air Raabondhi restaurant offers lobsters and barbecue specials. The Boli Bar never closes and you can choose to relax on a moonlit deck or enjoy the lively pub.

Sport and leisure
A full selection of sports and high-quality leisure facilities are available as well as excursions and fishing trips. The underwater world is breathtaking and if you are lucky, Napolean wrasse, bait fishes and blue-lined snappers will swim around you as you dive. Try not to leave without experiencing a private, desert island picnic for two.

Pamper yourself
In local Dhivehi language, ‘Araamu’ means comfort, pleasure and every feeling in between.
